Theme: Scientific digital collections and public access

The Workshop about Scientific digital collections and public access will occur in Coimbra, at University of Coimbra Auditorium, on October 18th, 2006. The main propose of this Workshop is the debate of questions that are asked, nowadays, to Institutions that hold scientific collections and to researchers. What it is and how we should do the inventory collections, how we should promote and adapt them to the different publics, what kind of projects exists on this area, how will be the science museums in the future, are some of the questions that we want to discuss with the participation of institutions and experts in this field.

2nd International Meeting of Technologies applied to Museology, Conservation and Restoration

EITEC will happen in Coimbra, at University of Coimbra Auditorium, on October 19th and 20th. Our propose is to fallow the international dynamic in this area and create a debate Forum to allowing the different researchers to present their works, experiences and projects.

The first edition, happened in Lisbon, at Pharmacy Museum Auditorium, on November 4th and 5th, 2004, had the participation of remarkable experts and researchers representing the different areas of this event. This fact has contributed to the success of the first edition, reflected on the number of participates and the promotion and divulgation of EITEC in Portugal and in international level. This successful two days seminary, made the organization fell the need of new editions of this event whit a biannual periodicity, there for will happen now the 2nd edition.
